Howdy to all.
Recently I have been reading the Reprints of the Old EC comics brand, Vault of Horror, Crime Stories, etc. Does anyone know if these stories made their way into the OTR format?
If so what series and/or shows might I be able to find them for my listening horror?

Thanks,
Scott

Horor Comics on Radio

I'm not aware of any radio shows drawn directly from EC Comics, but the comic pages could push the line on horror a lot further than radio ever could. It was a different audidence and a different medium.

Some of the scariest radio shows were in the series of "Lights Out", "Escape", "The Witch's Tale", "Weird Circle", "Mysterious Traveler", "Suspense", and "The Whistler." Another series, "Quiet Please" had sci-fi, fantasy tales, and occasionally a true horror story.

Both "Nick Carter" and "The Shadow" had many programs that were deep in the horror genre, including vampire people, mad scientists, and insane killers underground.

Thanks Jack. Sort of figured this to be the case, although the HBO series "Tales from the Crypt" does a decent job on the stories just was hoping for an OTR format.

I don't know of any EC comics that were adopted to OTR, but I sure know several OTR shows that were adopted to EC. Check out the article about it at:
