Hello,
I am an independent researcher in the process of gathering resources for a book project I am working on. My research has lead me to search for a recording of a radio show broadcast of Tommy Bartlett's "Welcome Travelers".
The person I am researching is named "Chauncey ‘the bear hunter’ Bottum", and I have a source that documents that he did in fact appear on an episode of that show as well as on NBCs News of the World, and The Standard Oil Hour. Unfortunately, I have no idea of the broadcast dates. I know it’s “a shot in the dark”, but I thought I would write and at least give the group a try.
Anybody have any recordings of “Welcome Travelers” or the others in your extensive collections? If not, might you know of other sources/collectors that may have recordings of those shows? Might there be documentation somewhere that would tell me who appeared on what broadcast? I realize it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack, and that the needle may not even exist, but at least I can say I tried. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Finding a copy of this source(s) is very important to me and my project.
Thank you for your time. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely yours,
Kurt M. Kuhlman

in their catalogs they list the series as

I'm looking for the audio or footage file from October 18th, 1954 "Welcome Travelers" show. The name specific I need would be "Dinninger".
Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Tommy Bartlett's "Welcome Travelers" Radio Show
After years of researching on and off, I finally determined the Welcome Travelers broadcast I am looking for is from early 1950 - possibly from February 23, 1950, but definitely prior to March 1950.
I have documentation that "Chauncey the Bear Hunter" Bottum was interviewed on the same show as Clarence Nash the voice of Disney's Donald Duck and Herman the Duck on Burns & Allen.
I know a recording of that particular show probably doesn't exist, but I'm hoping that somebody can prove me wrong.
