My wife remembers in a radio show she heard when she was young, in the late 30s or early-mid 40s, where there was a certain brief instrumental piece regularly played - either as some transitional music or to introduce or be part of a commercial.
She heard the snippet of the piece many times and thus feels it was not just a one time performance.
But she does not remember what the radio show. Nor does she remember what the commercials were that were on it.
The part of the piece itself she heard is the first 30 seconds or so of Grieg's Norwegian Dances no 2 - itself a very brief piece.
