For those of you who haven't seen our posts at other message boards, here's a little info about us.

I'm a volunteer at the California Historical Radio Society, established in 1974 promote the research, restoration, preservation and presentation of early radio and broadcasting. Our museum is in a former radio station.

We have electrical transcription discs of vintage radio at our museum and decided to offer them for download at our website. All downloads will be available for free.

Please visit us at http://www.californiahistoricalradio.com/et-project/ to see the shows we have already available (like Mail Call, GI Jive and Charlie McCarthy), and for our latest download, which just went up today.

If you have any questions, please post them at the website instead of here. A lot of work went into getting these to you, so we'd love to hear from you even if it's not a question.

Thanks!

Please visit our website for the latest download.

It would be nice if people left comments there for those of us who work to bring these free shows to you.  Won't you?

Thanks.

When I checked out your website, it looks like a pleasurable preservation of musical radio shows ... but where are the soap operas? Since they dominated daytime programming from the 1930's 'til the end of network programming, it would be terrific if you could discover a sizeable amount of previously unknown consecutive episodes of continuing dramas such as The Road of Life, The Right to Happiness, Life Can Be Beautiful, Stella Dallas, etc. As one who listened to these shows in the 1950's, I find it odd that only a few scattered chapters exist. Someone should have a hoard of consecutive episodes and share them before the transcription discs and tapes wither away to dust. JMHO

I apologize for taking a long time to reply. If you put your comments on the CHRS page, I'll be able to answer much sooner.

It is our plan to make available all discs in our collection, so if we have any soap operas, you'll see them on our website. Keep checking back!
